Asus X401A Overview

With the X401A, Asus managed to give competition a solid slap, showing them you can have a budget laptop that’s both powerful and pleasant to look at. We would like to highlight the last part because the Asus X401A is a very attractive machine, coming with a minimalist design that combines a black keyboard and display frame with a coloured palm rest area, giving the laptop a happy yet elegant look. Under the hood, the X401A packs in some decent specs for a 14.1-inch machine but nothing that will blow you away. The processor is the most noticeable compromise of the X401A, the laptop coming with an Intel Pentium B950 CPU; all the other components are right on spot: 4GB of RAM, a generous 750GB hard drive and a decent battery that can keep the laptop running for up to 4 hours.

The multimedia side is not the richest as the Asus X401A only comes with an integrated web-cam and no card-reader – a possible disappointment for users who regularly transfer pictures and videos from digital cameras and other gadgets.
